Here & Now
Here & Now is a series of abstract expressionist paintings.
Mixed media 18” x 24”.
In this project process, I dove into making these pieces without strategizing preconceived plans or designs of what the painting should/could be. The idea is about tapping into one’s current state of being- the thoughts, perceptions, emotions that are taking up space in the here & now. And to bring that into the present moment of mark making- in the choice of color, choice of medium, energy of stroke, movement of application. With each move, responding to the previous stroke by building, balancing or disrupting the painting composition thats coming to be. By keeping the process freeing and open ended, I experimented with the spontaneity of mark making.

Moonshot coffee, Seattle WA
January of 2020 started on a wonderful note with showing the Here & Now paintings at Moonshot Coffee. The paintings filled up this sweet space with fresh energy and good vibes. Best part was getting to connect with folks who enjoyed the paintings and reached out. Most of these paintings now live in the homes of some lovely folks.
